The New York State Liquor Authority has fined Wegmans and five ‘affiliated’ liquor stores $1.1 million over licensing issues. The five affiliated stores are owned by individual members of the Wegmans family, but a complaint said the five stores are effectively allowing Wegmans to control each business. Wegmans itself is not licensed to sell liquor in New York. Johnson City wine & Liquor, which is next store to the JC Wegmans, is one of the five businesses fined.
