Pennsylvania man arrested for burglary in Kirkwood

A Pennsylvania man has been arrested following an attempted burglary in Broome County.

According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on Colesville Road in the Town of Kirkwood in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

A property owner was conducting a property check when he discovered a masked man, later identified as 46-year-old Susquehanna, Pennsylvania resident Wesley N. Wycoff, on his property.

The property owner pointed a legally registered handgun at the suspect and called 911.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene to find the property owner pointing the gun at the suspect, who was dressed in dark clothing and wearing what appeared to be a mask.

Multiple buildings and a vehicle on the property were found to have been damaged and broken into. Wyckoff was allegedly found with a screwdriver, pliers and a small plastic bag containing a white crystal-like substance that field tested positive for meth.

He has been charged with felony counts of burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree as well as other related misdemeanor charges.
