The New York State Police have arrested 37-year-old Christopher Ramey of Port Crane, for felony Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and several misdemeanors. Troopers were dispatched to a dispute where a victim was struck by a vehicle. The investigation revealed that Ramey became angry after an argument and spun his tires while backing out of a driveway in the town of Smithville. As he aggressively backed out of the driveway, he struck three mailboxes. Ramsey is also alleged to have driven up and down Route 41, making u-turns and swerving all over the road. He then allegedly drove AT a person, who jumped out of the vehicle’s path — but then struck another person. The victim was transported to Wilson Hospital for hip pain. Ramsey fled the scene but was located at his residence. He was arraigned in the town of Smithville Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail.
