Broome County Executive Jason Garnar has declared a State of Emergency in Broome County due to flooding effective August 14, 2018 at 10AM.
The following emergency orders have been issued:
-No recreational use of waterways in Broome County
-Do not drive on flooded roadways
The State of Emergency has been declared due to flooding across the county resulting in flooded roadways and damage.
The Broome County Emergency Operations Center has been activated. The following Departments have reported to the EOC at the Public Safety Building:
- New York State and Broome County Highway, Broome County Sheriff’s Office, American Red Cross and Broome
County Emergency Management.
Residents should follow all emergency alerts. Broome County encourages residents to monitor
the weather forecast and road conditions frequently. The State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice.
