Two Binghamton residents charged in connection with burglary that left one person shot

Two Binghamton residents have been arrested following a burglary where one person was shot in the city on Thursday.

According to police, 44-year-old James Agron, Sr. and 47-year-old Robert Swartz have been charged with burglary in the first degree.

Binghamton Police responded to Amsbry Street at around 4:55 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a male who had been shot.

Police said two suspects entered the home looking to rob those inside and a struggle ensued, resulting in the victim being shot.

The 25-year-old victim sustained gunshot wounds to his back and arm. His injuries were non-life threatening.

Agron and Swartz were remanded to the Broome County Jail.
