State of Emergency in Broome County
No Unnecessary Travel Due to Flash Flooding
(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) The State of Emergency in Broome County declared by County Executive Jason Garnar is still in effect and effective IMMEDIATELY Tuesday evening (8-14-18), the County Executive issued an emergency order of “No unnecessary travel in Broome County.”
The following emergency orders were issued early Tuesday and remain in effect:
No recreational use of waterways in Broome County
Do not drive on flooded roadways
The State of Emergency was declared Tuesday due to flooding across the county in several municipalities.
The Broome County Emergency Operations Center remains activated at the Public Safety Building.
Broome County encourages residents to monitor the weather forecasts and road conditions frequently. A recent briefing from the National Weather Service-Binghamton stated areas could receive another 2 inches of rain this evening.
