The US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights sent 60 letters to universities under investigation for anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment.

Included in those 60 schools were both Binghamton University and Cornell University.

Last spring, a Binghamton student claimed she faced anti-Semitic threats over the Middle East conflict.

In the fall of 2023, a post on social media featured graphic threats of murder and rape against Jewish individuals and compared them to animals at Cornell.

The letter warned about possible enforcement actions against schools that do not protect Jewish students as Title VI of the Civil Rights Act requires.
