Matthews Auto donates $153K to help youth from Walkathon

Matthews Auto Group in Vestal presented more than $153,561 to 13 charities serving children from its annual Walkathon held earlier this month. 

Local beneficiaries from Monday’s presentation included Mom’s House in Johnson City ($9,531), A Room to Heal in Vestal ($10,813), Guthrie Hospice Vestal’s Camp Hope for Kids ($19,568), Handicapped Children’s Association in Binghamton ($9,660), and Gigi’s Playhouse in Johnson City ($28,485). 

The Matthes Auto Group Walkathon has been held for the past seven years, raising $593,739 to date for charities serving children from Rochester, New York, to Scranton, Pennsylvania, through the steps of many participants. The 2025 event surpassed its goal by $3,561.  

“Thank you to all of walkers, those who donated and our charity partners for making the 2025 Matthews Auto Walkathon a huge success,” organizers said in a statement. “We are looking forward to next year!”
