A burn ban is currently in effect in New York.
Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced the statewide burn ban due to increased fire risk and continued dry conditions.
The ban will be in effect for 14 days, from Oct. 2 through Oct. 15.
It will be re-evaluated prior to its expiration.
