Tuesday marked the end of an era in Owego as longtime Supervisor Don Castellucci oversaw his last Town Board meeting.
Castellucci has served as the Town of Owego Supervisor for the last 16 years. He decided to retire from the position and did not seek re-election in November.
During his tenure as supervisor, Castellucci oversaw the building of the town’s 9/11 Memorial in 2016.
Before he became supervisor, he spent 14 years as a Town Board member.
Gary Hellmers will take over as Town of Owego Supervisor in January.
