Here is the full fire recap from the Endicott Fire Department:

2 fires for Platoon 4 in 16 hours.

On Wednesday January 28, 2026 at approximately 5:55 am, the Endicott Fire Department was dispatched to 5 Parsons Ave for a house fire. EFD crews responded Quint 25 and Squad 25 immediately and upon arrival, confirmed a working fire and a second alarm was requested.

Heavy fire was visible from the first and second floors and crews immediately went to work deploying hose lines to the first and second floors. The Occupants were confirmed to have gotten out of the structure, allowing the crews to initially focus on extinguishment.

The second alarm brought off duty Endicott personnel and mutual aid companies. Once additional crews arrived, searches were conducted to confirm no occupants remained in the structure and ladders were deployed to the upper floors. The fire extended into the walls, floors and attic requiring crews to work extensively to open them for extinguishment and overhaul.

The cold temperatures, along with this being the second fire in Endicott in a 16 hour period, made for an exhausting morning for most of the crews on scene.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, and is under investigation by Broome County Fire Investigators. No injuries were reported and the house is determined to be a total loss. Occupants were being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Endicott was assisted on scene by Endicott Police Department, Village Of Endicott DPW and Municipal Light, Endwell Fire, Vestal Fire Department, West Corners Fire, Five Mile Point Fire Company, Broome County Office of Emergency Services Fire Coordinators and Bureau of Fire Investigation, Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, Inc. and NYSEG Gas. West Endicott, Union Center Fire Company, Prospect Terrace Fire Department, East Maine Fire Department, Town of Binghamton Fire Company and Campville Fire Departments manned their stations to provide coverage to the area if needed.
