A former Binghamton mayor has announced that he will run for Broome County Sheriff.
Matt Ryan served as Binghamton’s mayor from 2006 to 2013.
He will run for Broome County Sheriff on both the Democratic and Working Families Party tickets.
Ryan worked as a public defender for 15 years before serving as mayor.
Current Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar will run for re-election on the Republican ticket.
