The Vestal Fire Department is mourning the loss of a former fire chief.
Former chief Douglas Rose passed away on Friday at the age of 66.
Rose spent more than 50 years with the department, including serving as Station 1 Fire Chief from 2005 to 2023 and Department Chief from 2008 to 2010.
He also served as an Endicott Police Officer for 20 years, before retiring in 2003.
Funeral services for Chief Rose will be held on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Vestal United Methodist Church.
