A former Town of Windsor Supervisor is suing Broome County over how it handled her husband’s body following a fatal house fire in 2024.

According to News Channel 34, Carolyn Price is claiming emotional distress over the treatment of the remains of her husband Daniel Price, Jr.

Daniel Price was 84 when he died in a house fire in Windsor on Dec. 8, 2024.

Reverent Services, which has a contract with Broome County, brought Daniel’s body to the morgue at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital before transporting him to the county’s refrigerated, temporary storage trailer outside the Broome County Jail.

Carolyn Price is alleging the county was obligated to seek her wishes, which would have been to take Daniel’s body to a funeral home in Harpursville.

The lawsuit also alleges that there was mistreatment and mishandling of the remains which resulted in damage.
