A Tioga County jury found Jonathan Glennon guilty of second degree murder and first degree kidnapping on Friday.
Glennon was charged in the kidnapping and death of Thomas Rath in 2023.
Rath was first reported missing from Ithaca’s homeless encampment known as “The Jungle” in May of 2023. His body was found on state game lands in Candor in August of 2023.
After deliberating for around six hours, the jury came back with the two guilty verdicts while finding Glennon not guilty on the first-degree murder charge.
The case was prosecuted by Tioga County District Attorney Kirk Martin and Assistant District Attorney Lillian Reardon.
Glennon will be sentenced on April 27.
