The paving project on Interstate 86 in the Town of Owego is now complete.
The two-year, $47 million dollar project repaved six miles of highway from Exit 65 in Owego to the Broome County line.
The project also rehabilitated two bridges, including new bridge decks, concrete barriers and bearings.
While that project is complete, the state is planning to work on another section of I-86 next year.
The three-year project will reconstruct 4.7 miles of highway in the Town and Village of Owego, including work on Exits 64 and 65.
Another project will focus on repaving a six-mile stretch of 86 between in the Town of Nichols. That project is expected to start in 2027.
