The Johnson City Fire Department rescued a man from a fire on Tuesday morning.

The 911 caller reported that his roommate was still inside the home and unable to get out.

Firefighters fought through zero visibility and rapidly deteriorating conditions to locate and rescue the victim from a rear bedroom.

Fire investigators said the blaze started due to a space heater that was plugged into a power strip, which was plugged into another power strip.
