Lockheed Martin in Owego has been awarded a $56 million dollar defense contract from the US. Air Force.
The money will be used for the production of B-2 countermeasure receivers for the Air Force. The devices help stealth bomber pilots detect and analyze enemy radar and missile threats.
Congressman Nick Langworthy called the contract a major win for Lockheed Martin Owego and a significant investment in the safety and effectiveness of the country’s B-2 fleet.
The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, 2031.
