New York minimum wage going to $16 in 2026

The New York State minimum wage is set to increase in 2026.

The state’s minimum wage has been gradually increasing since a 2023 agreement between the governor’s office and state legislature.

Starting in January, the minimum wage in New York will increase to $16 an hour, up from $15.50 in 2025.

In 2027, the minimum wage will be indexed to inflation.
