Operation Clean Sweep nets arrests, drugs

Federal, state and local law enforcement announced the results of an operation spanning more than a year in Binghamton on Thursday.

Operation Clean Sweep started in early 2025 and consisted of a joint effort between the FBI, DEA, ATF, Broome County Sheriff’s Office and several local police departments.

A significant amount of narcotics was seized, including 475 grams of fentanyl, 63 pounds of meth, 350 grams of crack cocaine, 400 pounds of marijuana and more.

The operation led to more than a dozen arrests with many ending up in convictions.
