The Owego Apalachin School District provided an update on its capital project on Friday.

Here is the complete post from the OA School Facebook page:

We are excited to share the latest progress on our capital projects, and we thank you for your patience as we work to enhance our school facilities. We’re getting closer to seeing the positive impact of these upgrades on our students, staff, and community.

Here’s a breakdown of the current status for each project:

Large Group Instruction (LGI) Space: Located off the Owego Free Academy (OFA) main lobby, the LGI is now back in use! Students and staff have been using this space for instruction, presentations, and special events since the start of the school year. We’re finalizing a few minor items, but the space is functional.

OFA Gymnasium: This project is on track and expected to be completed within the next week. You can look forward to seeing the space back in use very soon, even as we continue to work on a few minor finishing touches.

OAMS/OFA Roof: The new roof is approximately 75% complete, and we anticipate full completion by the end of September.

Community Pool: The pool is expected to be finished by mid-October. This slight delay is due to the lead time needed for key items, including the new starting blocks.

OAMS/OFA Music Suite: The music suite will be completed in phases throughout October. This phased approach is necessary because of the required removal and reinstallation of the original fireproofing, which caused a slight delay in the schedule.

We’re grateful for your continued support as we build a better environment for our school community.
