Owego punches ticket to Scholarship Challenge finals

Owego Free Academy earned a trip to the Scholarship Challenge finals with a pair of wins on Saturday.

The Owego team beat Elmira in the first round, while Northeast Bradford took down Spencer-Van Etten.

With a spot in the finals on the line, Connor Sipe answered the last question of the day to break a tie and give Owego a 140-120 win over Northeast Bradford.

Owego will join Tioga, Towanda and Wellsboro in the 46th annual FCCB Scholarship Challenge finals on Saturday, March 14th.

This week, middle school teams will take the stage at the Sayre Theatre. Action will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
