The Owego Village Board will hold a public hearing on a potential rooster ban next month.
At their meeting this week, the board scheduled a hearing for Monday, Aug. 17 at 7 pm in the village board room.
The main issue involving roosters in the village is the noise associated with the animals.
This proposed law would not affect homeowners with chickens.
The village board will decide whether to move forward with the proposal after the public hearing.
