Radigan Media to celebrate 20th anniversary with WEBO

Today at noon marks the 20-year anniversary of Radigan Media purchasing WEBO in Owego.

It was the first station ever purchased by the Radigan family, in a company that has grown to 17 signals across the Twin Tiers today — now the largest locally owned media company in the area. WEBO is heard on 5 of those signals.

A young Dave Radigan moved from Rochester to operate the stations making Owego his home for over 16 of the last 20 years.

While the station signed on in 1957, it re-launched on July 1st, 2006 at 12 noon with a local newscast, followed by network news from CBS at the time, just days after the 2006 flood.  It would go on to be flooded out itself in 2011.

After famously operating from a camper briefly during the flood, then Radigan’s own living room on Montrose Turnpike for several months, the station moved again from 57 to 60 North Avenue in Owego after the flood, where it’s been ever since.

WEBO, and the Radigan family, are most proud of their commitment to local news, weather, sports, community interviews and involvement with a focus on local programming, including local announcers Matt Lewis, Audra Marks, and Lew Saurebrey.

The Radigan family attributes the station’s success to its hard-working team, many listeners, and loyal advertisers who continue to support WEBO in every way, every day.

WEBO will celebrate the 20-year anniversary at noon today with a photo opp in front of the North Avenue studio.
