Tioga County Legislature Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey reported it has become more evident in the last ten days that the uptick in COVID-19 cases in Tioga County is directly related to community spread/transmission of the virus for a variety of reasons including; more people socializing in the community and participating in larger gatherings.
Not only are we seeing more community spread of the virus, with more cases comes many more people being placed into mandatory quarantine. I am strongly encouraging people to keep their circles small! The more gatherings we attend, the more opportunity for exposure.
Practice safe social distancing by staying six feet apart, both indoors and outdoors, wear a mask both indoors and outdoors when safe social distancing cannot be maintained.
