The Tioga County Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention will be conducting a candlelight vigil on Thursday, August 30th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The vigil will be at the Courthouse Square Gazebo in Owego. The theme this year is “Time to Remember. Time to Act.” During the event, attendees will be able to pay tribute to those impacted by substance use, specifically overdose, and create personalized luminaries in their honor. There will be local speakers sharing their stories and messages of hope, resources, a candlelight walk, and light refreshments. The event aims to increase awareness about the risk of overdose and reduce the negative stigma associated with substance use. All are welcome to attend, and the event is kid friendly.
