Five-year-old boy falls 30 feet near waterfall at Waverly Glen Park

A five-year-old boy from Waverly was taken to the hospital after he fell 30 feet near the waterfall at the Waverly Glen Park on Thursday morning.

According to the Waverly Police Department, the boy had run from his mother while she was attending her other children in the park and then fell 30 feet down the embankment at the waterfall.

The boy hit his head on a rock and suffered a cut to his head. By the time Waverly Police, the Waverly-Barton Fire Department and Greater Valley EMS arrived the boy was found sitting with his mother at the pavilion. The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
