The Tioga County Open Door Mission has announced a new harm reduction vending machine has been installed in Waverly.

The vending machine will provide free access to Narcan and other harm reduction supplies.

This initiative was made possible through a partnership with the Southern Tier AIDS Program, the MATTERS Network and the Tioga County Health Department.

According to the Tioga County Open Door Mission, the goal of the vending machine is to ensure that anyone in need has life-saving tools readily available.

“At the Tioga County Open Door Mission, we are committed to serving and supporting individuals impacted by addiction. We stand behind harm reduction because it works. Narcan, in particular, has saved countless lives — many owe their lives to this tool,” the organization said in a Facebook post.

The harm reduction vending machine is located outside the Red Door, located at 359 Broad Street in Waverly.
