Ithaca College has announced plans to build a new track and field facility.

The new eight lane, 400-meter track will be built on the west side of campus. It will include runways for jumping events and a small field near Emerson Hall will be repurposed for throwing events.

The track will be built to NCAA standards, which will allow Ithaca College to host home outdoor meets for the first time in nearly 10 years.

The project will cost around $4 million dollars and will be funded by donors and institutional capital funds.

Construction is set to begin in April and be completed by September.
