An Ithaca man has been charged with attempted murder following a domestic disturbance on Monday.
According to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, two men were struggling over a rifle during an incident that was reported at around 7:49 pm on Monday.
One of the men fled the scene with a .22 caliber firearm. He was lated identified as 30-year-old Frank White II.
Witnesses said White pointed the rifle at a family member and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. White then fled on foot and discarded the rifle nearby.
White was taken into custody following a brief struggle.
He has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree as well as robbery, obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
White was remanded to jail on $10,000 cash bail.
