The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a fire on Sunday evening at a high-rise apartment building in downtown Ithaca.
According to the Ithaca Fire Department, the fire started in a stairwell at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday on East Green Street.
The flames were quickly contained, but hazardous smoke and gases spread to every floor.
All occupants made it out of the building, but several people were treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and is under investigation.
