A Newark Valley man was pronounced dead at the scene of a late afternoon crash between a motorcycle and dump truck Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Town of Newark Valley according to a press release provided by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
A motorcycle operated by Mark Yurko of Prentice Road, Newark Valley, was traveling in an easterly direction on King Hill Road when it struck a dump truck operated by Don Howell of Paige Ave., Endicott. The dump truck was pulling into a private driveway when the accident occurred, approximately 5:24 p.m.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Tioga County Sheriff Crash Investigation Unit, Newark Valley Fire Department, and the Tioga County Coroner’s Office.
The accident investigation remains on-going.
