A public works building in Newark Valley was destroyed by a fire on Friday afternoon.
The fire started just before 3 p.m. on Friday on Whig Street in the village.
Heavy smoke was seen coming from the barn, which is used as a public utility building for Newark Valley.
Firefighters from Newark Valley, Owego, Campville, West Corners, Union, Berkshire and Maine responded to the scene.
Everyone was able to get out of the building. No injuries have been reported from the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
