The New York State Police announced that they issued over 10,000 tickets during their annual Fourth of July Stop DWI campaign.
The state police ran the campaign from Thursday through Sunday last weekend.
Troopers set up sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols for DWI and drivers using handheld electronic devices.
Of the 10,000 tickets issued, 210 people were arrested for DWI. State police investigated 716 crashes, including five which were fatal.
In the Southern Tier, troopers made 10 DWI arrests out of 765 total tickets handed out over July 4th weekend.
