The Owego Police Department has confirmed that a body was found earlier this week in the Owego Creek.
According to police, a father and son were fishing on Tuesday at around 2 p.m. when they discovered the body wedged against a tree, partially submerged in the creek near Livingston Park.
The New York State Forensic Team was called in to assist the Owego Police Department, which also received support from the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office and Tioga County Emergency Services.
The death is not considered suspicious at this time.
The name of the deceased has not been released due to pending family notification.
The Owego Police Department is still waiting on the toxicology report.
