Owego PD, school district running supply drive for hurricane victims

The Owego Police Department is organizing a supply drive for those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.

Former Owego resident Jesse Knox, who now lives in Knoxville, Tennesee, is working with the local police department to organize the supply drive to help victims in Hot Springs, North Carolina.

Residents can drop off supplies or monetary donations through this Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Owego Village Hall, located at 22 Elm Street, or at The Community Shop, located at 106 North Ave. in Owego.

Some supplies they are looking for include blankets, cleaning supplies, soap, personal protective equipment, boots and socks.

The Owego Free Academy Student Council and Key Club are also sponsoring a supply drive, which will help the residents of Newport, Tennessee.

Supplies for this drive can be dropped off at any Owego-Apalachin School District building.
