The Tioga County Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention hosted a family fun day at Marvin Park in Owego Saturday. The well-attended event was a big hit with two bounce houses, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, snow cones, popcorn, and raffle prizes all donated. Senator Fred Akshar was at the event and announced that CASA Trinity Prevention Services will receive $70,000 in state funding for a full-time prevention specialist in Tioga County schools. The funds will also support community drug prevention efforts.
