A group of local residents are planning a Candor Pinewood Derby which will consist of children, with family adult help, shaping, carving, painting and racing miniature wooden cars. The event will be held on July 3rd as part of the Candor 4th of July festivities. The group will kick off preparations with an informational meeting and a showing of the family film, “Down and Derby.” That happens this Saturday night at 7at the Village Chapel located at 28 Main Street in Candor. You can find videos on YouTube under “Pinewood Derby” that will give you a better idea of what the event will be like.
