The Tioga County Public Health Department will be participating in a Drug Take Back Day this weekend.
The health department is working with Tioga County Advocacy, Support and Prevention Coalition, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office and Waverly Police Department as part of the DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.
Residents can bring their unused and expired medications to the Tioga County Health and Human Services Building, located at 1062 State Route 38 in Owego from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or to the Waverly Police Department at 32 Ithaca Street in Waverly from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sharps, syringes and needles will only be accepted at the Owego location and must be in a sealed sharps container.
Those who drop off medications or sharps will receive a goody bag with medication lock boxes, pill sorters and more.
