The Ithaca Police Department has identified the suspect in a homicide that occurred on Plain Street.
According to police, 43-year-old Ahmed Abed is facing a charge of murder in the second degree.
Police responded to Plain Street at around 5:30 a.m. for a death investigation. The incident was not a random act of violence.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Abed was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
