A teenager from Ithaca is facing charges after he led New York State Troopers on a chase in Dryden last weekend.
Troopers and Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance at the Ellis Hollow Community Center in Dryden on Saturday, Sept. 20 at around 11 pm.
A 17-year-old male left the area in a vehicle and was followed by a trooper with his emergency lights activated. The trooper observed the driver commit numerous vehicle and traffic violations, including endangering other drivers while failing to pull over and stop.
The driver would eventually stop the vehicle, but continued to fail to comply with police orders and allegedly resisted arrest.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanors for reckless driving, unlawful fleeing of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
He was issued a family court appearance ticket and turned over to a parent.
