Ithaca woman arrested after allegedly stabbing man

An Ithaca woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed a male victim on Thursday afternoon.

Ithaca Police arrested 24-year-old Jessica Leigh Anderson for assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Officers responded to the 600 block of Spencer Road in Ithaca at around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday for a report of a stabbing that just occurred inside a residence.

A male victim, who had a significant laceration to his arm, told officers that a woman he knew entered his residence without permission and engaged in a verbal altercation. The suspect allegedly stabbed the male in his arm prior to fleeing the scene to a nearby apartment building.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Anderson was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.
