Ithaca police were searching on Saturday for a woman who has been missing since August of 2017. Authorities say a search was conducted for Nicole Marranca in the area of the city of Ithaca known as “The Jungle.” 40 first responders and 6 canine teams from as far away as New Jersey participated. During the course of the search, a false report spread throughout social media claiming Marranca’s body was found. Ithaca police deny this claim and say she is still missing.
