The Ithaca City School District is among 49 Smart Schools Investment Plans that have been approved by New York State. $34 million in grants were announced yesterday by Governor Cuomo. A total of $2 billion will eventually be granted. The program supports investments in education technology and also the installation of high-tech security features in school buildings and on school campuses. The Ithaca School District will receive just over $2 million for high tech security on their campuses.
