A new candidate has announced a run for the New York 123rd District Assembly seat.
Vestal resident and business owner Lynn Parker is running in the Republican primary for the seat.
Parker currently serves as a Provider Relations Liaison at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City and owns a hair salon business with his wife.
Parker and several other candidates are hoping to replace longtime Democratic Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, who is not seeking re-election.
Lupardo has represented New York’s 123rd Assembly District since 2004.
The 123rd District covers Binghamton, Vestal, Johnson City, Union and Endicott.
Democrats Nick Libous, Dan Norton and Dan Livingston have also announced runs for the seat.
The primary election is set for June 23.
