A Rome man was convicted last week for sexually assaulting a child in Athens Township back in 2021.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Dennis Vanderpool was found guilty of one count of felony corruption of minors, three counts of felony indecent assault and five counts of misdemeanor indecent assault.
Vanderpool molested a 10-year-old child at the Chelsea Mobile Home Park in Athens Township in 2021. He was a friend of the victim’s family at the time of the crimes and was entrusted with babysitting the 10-year-old child while her parent was helping another family member in hospice care.
Vanderpool will be sentenced at a later date. He will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
