Athens man facing charges after allegedly kicking woman

An Athens man is facing charges after he allegedly kicked a woman in the stomach.

According to Athens Borough Police, 37-year-old Jacob A. Correll was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

The charges stem from an incident on March 1 at the Page Manor in Athens.

Police responded to a report of a man screaming in the hallway and causing a disturbance. When officers arrived they say they located a woman who appeared to be in pain.

Correll allegedly kicked the woman in the stomach while she was lying on a couch. The victim reportedly just had abdominal surgery before the incident.

After the alleged assault, Correll reportedly screamed at people in the hallway and made threats.

Correll was remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $50,000 bail.
