The Athens Borough Fire Department quickly knocked down a porch fire on Thursday afternoon.
The fire occurred on the 600 block of Church Street in Athens Borough.
It appears that the fire was contained to the porch of the two-story home.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, but firefighters did rescue one dog from the house.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Firefighters from Sayre, Athens Township, Litchfield and North Towanda also responded to the scene.
