The Union Pacific “Big Boy” steam locomotive will be pulling into the Valley later this week.
The Big Boy is scheduled to stop in Sayre at around 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The train will be in the Valley overnight before departing at 9 a.m. on Friday and heading to Owego.
The historic steam train will pass through Owego at around 10:45 a.m. It will depart at 11:15 and head to Binghamton.
This iconic locomotive will be leading the way as part of Union Pacific’s “America at 250” cross-country celebration, honoring our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
Choice 102 will broadcast live from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Waverly VFW at 206 Broad Street in Waverly.

With the Highly Anticipated Union Pacific “Big Boy” Steam Train Coming to the Valley, Here’s How to SAFELY Enjoy the Experience!** 
The historic Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 is expected to arrive in Sayre, PA on Thursday, June 11th at approximately 8:00 PM and depart on Friday, June 12th at approximately 9:00 AM.
This iconic locomotive will be leading the way as part of Union Pacific’s “America at 250” cross-country celebration, honoring our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. From June 9th–12th, this incredible steam engine will travel through areas of Pennsylvania and New York State, including Western New York and the Southern Tier.
As excitement builds, we want everyone to enjoy this historic event safely:
Residents and visitors should anticipate a **significant increase in vehicle and pedestrian traffic on N. Lehigh Avenue** due to the arrival of the Big Boy 4014. If you are planning to leave town around that time, please consider using **alternative travel routes** to help avoid delays and congestion.
