A Pine City woman was sentenced to years in state prison for drug and sex abuse charges.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 36-year-old Ashley M. Hamm, also known as Ashley Butler, was sentenced to a minimum of 6 years and 4 months to a maximum of 15 years in state prison.
She was convicted on meth charges as well as sex crimes connected to the case of Sayre resident Sean Hall, who was previously sentenced to 98 to 206 years in state prison for sexually assaulting more than a dozen women.
Hamm was found guilty of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse of an Unconscious Person, and Criminal Intent to Commit Possession with Intent to Deliver or Manufacture Methamphetamine – 10 to 50 grams of Methamphetamine, both felonies.
Hamm was charged with the drug offense by Detective Michael Lamanna of the Bradford County Drug Task Force after evidence of her involvement in manufacturing methamphetamine on Linden Street in Sayre Borough was discovered as part of a Drug Task Force investigation. During that investigation, which targeted Hamm and another person, Hall, detectives uncovered hundreds of hours of videos of sexual assault involving Hall.
One of those assaults that was captured on video, however, showed Hamm participating with Hall in the sexual assault of an unconscious, pregnant female victim.
Drug Task Force Det. David Hart filed the sexual assault charges against Hamm.
“I am thankful that our Bradford County Drug Task Force uncovered these crimes and successfully investigated them, allowing us to bring Ms. Hamm and Mr. Hall to justice,” noted District Attorney Richard Wilson. “This conviction and sentence closes the book on the prosecution of these heinous acts and achieves some measure of justice for the victims.”
